Orff Club begins Wednesday the 28th for 5th graders, and Thursday the 29th for 4th graders. RNE music is taught in the Orff process during the day. We hope your child will join us after school to continue making music! Orff Schulwerk is a way to teach and learn music. Schulwerk means “schooling” in German. It is based on things children like to do: sing, chant rhymes, clap , dance, and keep a beat on anything near at hand. These are directed into learning music by hearing and making music first, then reading it later. This is the same way we all learned our language.
Orff– Schulwerk uses poems, rhymes, games, songs and dances as examples and materials. The Orff melody instruments (recorders, xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels) offer good sound immediately. Active music making is an essential part of the Orff process.
