Fourth grade students have been learning about Tchaikovsky and "The Nutcracker," this week. These students incorporated higher level thinking into their lesson by answering the essential question " What is form? How does the rondo form of "The Nutcracker March," compare to the rondo form of a well written essay?" Students then analyzed a short biographical essay about Tchaikovsky, putting the parts together in the correct order. Once they read the introduction, body, and conclusion, they completed a short worksheet about the composer. Fourth grade students now have knowledge about what Romantic period composers were like!
