We will be reviewing our Native American inspired song from last week, called "Grinding Corn" and working on a Native American inspired pow wow dance.
1: What is the response in each line of our song?
We will be playing a singing game that trains students "musical ear" and gives them practice in singing sol, mi, and la correctly, in their head voice.
2: What is the form of this song? How do you know?
We will begin using repertoire from students upcoming international concert (in February) to explore form.
3: What do you need to work on before our performance? What is proper stage etiquette?
We will be reviewing all of our repertoire from our upcoming performance. Please check the announcements page to get a reminder on what night your performance is!
4: How do more parts in a canon change the canon?
We will be reviewing our canon through movement and singing, then playing our canon on the barred instruments. After that, we will review the process of learning to read the letter names of the notes on the staff.
5: How do the solfege syllables go with the major scale?
Fifth grade will be singing and playing an arrangement of the Pachelbel Canon on the barred instruments.
